This reduces the worth of such items, and I believe it also reduces the fun of the game. My biggest criticism of multiplayer is that bots introduce extremely rare items into the game, at a rate that is (and was) unintended by the creators of the game.
After enjoying multiplayer for years and years, single player is a breath of fresh air. I have been playing single player D2 for a while now.
